چکیده

Introduction Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has become a widespread procedure in critical care patients. Some of these patients are equipped with implanted cardiovascular diagnostic or therapeutic devices. The main risks during MRI are movement due to magnetic attraction and burns. The risks depend on quality and quantity of the implanted conductive metallic material as well as on the strength of the magnetic field. There is confusion which patients with which devices can safely undergo MRI. This also applies to transpulmonary thermodilution (TPTD) catheters which currently are not approved to be left in place during MRI. However, risks of delaying MRI until the catheter can be removed, potential harms of removal and risks and costs of repeated arterial cannulation have to be outweighed.

Diagnosis of Meningitis Caused by Pathogenic Microorganisms Using Magnetic Resonance Imaging: A Systematic Review

Introduction: Bacterial meningitis is an acute infectious inflammation of the protective membranes covering the brain. Its early diagnosis is vital because of its high morbidity and mortality. It is mostly diagnosed by a gold standard diagnostic tool i.e. Cerebrospinal Fluid (CSF) analysis. However, it is sometimes difficult and or impossible to do this procedure and an alternative diagnostic t...

Application of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) as a safe & Application of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) as a safe & non-destructive method for monitoring of fruit & vegetable in postharvest period

To investigate and control quality, one must be able to measure quality-related attributes. Quality of produce encompasses sensory attributes, nutritive values, chemical constituents, mechanical properties, functional properties and defects. MRI has great potential for evaluating the quality of fruits and vegetables. The equipment now available is not feasible for routine quality testing. The ...

Pseudo-CT Generation from Magnetic Resonance Imaging by fuzzy look up table algorithm

Introduction: Despite growing interest in the use of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in the external radiotherapy design process (RT), Computer Tomography (CT) remains a gold standard and is regarded as a basic imaging modality in radiotherapy. MRI shows the high contrast in soft tissues without any radiation exposure to patients. As a result, MRI is used in functional tissue ...
